Using every last fibre
Woodfibre insulation shows how wood can be used for more than structural applications. It can be transformed into lightweight fibres used in panels, insulation or acoustic layers. WOODCIRCLES has used off-cuts from the production of larger recycled structural wood pieces to make a sustainable high performance, circular insulation material. This sample demonstrates that even production residues and by-products from recovered wood can be given new life in new products. The long-term performance of this woodfibre insulation produced from recycled wood is currently being validated in a real building at the Danish Technological Institute, in Taastrup, Denmark.
